oscars 1Hey Preston Grove! You know, when any major award show comes around, I always sit and watch it with my best friend, my puppy, and a bowl of popcorn, trying to predict who will win each category. This weekends Oscars will be no different.

I’ve got my handy little OFFICIAL Oscar ballot guide, and I’m ready to roll. The Oscars are set to roll at 8 pm on Sunday, March 7th, on ABC. You can catch live, red carpet footage on Oscar.com.

I’m excited! The acceptance speeches (which I will making someday, ;) ), the outfits, the tears, the surprises, I just can’t wait! I also can’t wait to hear all of your comments about the show on Monday! ;) Be sure to keep Facebook handy, because it’s going to be one of those nights!

Are you going to watch?

St. Patrick’s Day revelers heading to Savannah the weekend before won’t find an outdoor festival along River Street or City Market. I know, I know, it stinks. On the upside, the streets won’t be completely silent either.

Many of the local bars and clubs will be providing entertainment for the weekend before the green holiday. And even though there won’t be an ‘official’ outdoor celebration, I know that many patrons will take it upon themselves to bring in the holiday with a bang!

Here’s a list of some of what the bars and nightclubs have planned for that weekend:

  • Live Wire
    • 307 W. River St.
    • (March 12 and 13)
    • – Tubby Love and the Trio of Love with The Solour System
    • – Turtlefolk with Junkyard Angel
  • Wild Wing Cafe in City Market
    • (March 12, 13 and 14)
    • – The Double J Band
    • – Tokyo Joe
    • – Chuck Courtenay & Uncle Buck
    • – Sun Domingo– The Design
    • – Liquid Ginger
  • Loco’s Grill & Pub
    • 301 W. Broughton St.
    • (March 12 and 13)
    • – Blue Dogs
    • – The Domino Effect
  • The Jinx
    • 127 W. Congress St.
    • (March 13)

Hey there Preston Grove! It’s Monday, the slowest day of the week (in my opinion). To get through the day, sometimes you need a little pick me up. Instead of chugging down gallons of java, why not try a laugh on for size? And this video with certainly have tears of mirth cascading down your face! Let me know what you thought!

On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best, how would you rate this video?

Wondrous Season of Green!

shamrock for march natha 01Savannah’s 18th annual Irish Festival held on Feb. 13 and 14 at the Savannah Civic Center officially kicked off the month-long Irish season in the city. I can honestly say that I’m extra excited about St. Patty’s Day in Savannah; I partake in the festivities every year! (Gotta love the green river!)

Festival goers were treated to live music and authentic cuisine, from corned beef sandwiches to bangers and Irish whiskey cake.

The kiddies enjoyed arts and crafts, dance troupes and games, while vendors offered everything from green-tinted attire to stained glass. Sounds like fun, right?

Did any of you go to the festival? Are you excited about the upcoming activities? Stay tuned for more St. Patty’s Day Goodness!
