Almost everyone uses aluminum foil right? I know that my family reuses it religiously, especially around holidays. Well, what do you do once you’ve used it? You can throw it away, yes, but where’s the eco-friendly fun in that? Here’s a short list of ways that you can reuse your foil. (P.S. Foil that has handled raw meat should NOT be reused for other food products):
Wash it and use it again: all you have to do is wash the foil in soap and water, flatten it on the kitchen counter with a rolling pin or something else of that nature, and it’s as good as new.
While in school, I often used aluminum foil to cover my pots and skillets when I didn’t have covers for them. They worked out great!
Use when painting: Aluminum foil makes for interesting patterns and textures when used for painting. It can also help when you want to paint a door; just wrap the foil around the door handle and you won’t have to worry about the paint dripping on the knob. You can also wrap your brushes and rollers in foil when you’re taking a break.
Shine metals: Just get a wad of old aluminum foil, and scrub that annoying rust off of your chrome and steal products. It works better than steel wool! Be careful not to scratch the surfaces however.
Do you have any amazing reuses for aluminum foil to add to the list?
