Morning Relaxation on the Beach

Hey Preston Grove! I hope that you had loads of fun at the pool party this past weekend! From the pictures and everyone’s feedback, it’s obvious that everyone had a great time! Wasn’t it relaxing to just break away from your normal routine and have some downright fun? I know it was. :) Well, if you’re still on a relaxation kick, I have something new for you to try: Beach Yoga.

Yoga itself is already pretty relaxing (if you do it right and have the patience for it), but what could possibly make it even more relaxing? How about the gentle caresses of the sea as it laps against the sandy shoreline? Or having a soft, sea breeze wrapping around you as you transition from one yoga position to the next? Doesn’t that sound heavenly?

Well, at Tybee Island, they have morning yoga classes on the beach. What better way to start your day? It’s generally a one hour gentle yoga class moving slowly between poses for just the right balance between strengthening and stretching muscles. You can also enjoy deep relaxation positions for the last 15 minute of class.  The experience helps to leave you feeling refreshed, reconnected, and relaxed. :)

You can attend these classes Sunday mornings from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, or on Fridays from 8 pm  to 9 pm. These are gentle yoga classes appropriate for students of any age and level. Remember to bring a towel or mat; mats are only about $15 at places like Wal-mart, TJMaxx, and Marshalls. There are no fees for the classes, but donations are accepted.

I think this is a great way to either start or end your day. Attend if you can!

Do you yoga?

Classes are located on Tybee Island (about 40 min away) near the Gulick Street walkover at the North Beach Parking lot.

Zumba crowd

Preston Grove is so wonderfully active, and her residents are as well. I’m so glad that so many people show up to our events! Well, I’ve come up with an idea of another event that people may be interested in: Zumba. Everybody’s doing it, and if there’s enough interest, we can possibly look into having a Zumba class here at the property!

For those who don’t know, Zumba is an exercise class that fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program. I stress the ‘easy to follow’ comment, as many workout classes that I have been to have been way less than ‘easy’. I always left pretty sore. With Zumba, you’ll still be a little sore, but at least you’ll  have have fun while breaking that sweat.

So what do you say Preston Grove, should we host a Zumba event?

plastic_love_kiss_19087_lWith Valentines Day right around the corner, love is definitely in the air. New beaus can’t keep their hands off of each other, and veterans in the game of love are working to keep the fires burning. This can be from simply holding hands, or reverting back to a classic favorite, the kiss.

Kisses have always been a sure fire way to boost your honey’s love meter. And if you’re good at it, it’s fun too! What could possibly make it better?

Well, studies show that kissing can be good for you. I know one thing, it can definitely help when choosing a partner, because if their lip lock makes you feel like you’re in a head lock, then they are not the one for you! Here are a few other ways kissing can be beneficial.
